Well hello, San Francisco

Our visit to the Bay City was bittersweet. It was the final destination for our foursome but the perfect place to end a rather cheeky adventure that will undoubtedly be one of many.

Terraces line the sloped streets, rainbow flags hang high and cable cars reign supreme. It’s another little world so different to the others inside this big country.

Highlights include lunch in the hippy suburb Haight as the San Fran 49ers took down the New Orleans Saints, and an afternoon at Fisherman’s Wharf; complete with crepes, a carousel and some sea lions.

Needless to say, I’m stoked this city is a just casual train ride from the place I’ll call home for the next 6 months.

Now, it's off to San Jose.

Come at me, college.

Welcome to Miami

From thermals, boots and beanies to coconut oil, togs and not much else... suffice to say South Beach really brings the heat.

It was a refreshing change of pace to trade frantic sightseeing in New York for the relaxed lifestyle in Miami. Hard to believe these two worlds are only a few hours apart.

Admittedly, i did feel a little left out for not being fluent in Spanish. "Hola's" and "gracias'' are so common that being eloquent in the language seems like a requirement for residency... one of many exotic features of a city which evidently knows no winter.

An absolute must-do is a trip to the Bahamas. The water is gorgeous, the people are lovely and its only two-hours-by-boat away. If you aren't sold already, the first two photos below should change your mind.

If not, you must be loco.

See? I'm picking it up already.

Adios, muchachos.

A city in black and white

So, in the 5 days we spent in New York, i managed to take 1500 photos... not even kidding.

What can i say? The city really lends itself to frenzied photography. I've handpicked a few which i think best show all the characters and activities on the streets.

Enjoy x

Farewell, New York. We'll see you soon!

Puppy in power

New Yorkers love their dogs. Whether its a miniature poodle with a diamonte encrusted leash shopping in Prada, or a great dane strolling through the streets of Soho, these people take them everywhere. We love it.

There is one breed in particular which makes a regular appearance in NYC, and coincidentally the breed i have wanted for quite some time now: the french bulldog.

If New York is anything to go by; these ugly-in-a-cute-way pups are definitely "in".

Spotted this little guy near the meatpacking district tonight... you can see why his kind are so popular.

From where dreams are made...

New York,  New York.

I've developed quite a crush.

It was always number one on my "things-i-can't-wait-for" list. Three days into our time here, the Big City has lived up to every one of my expectations, and is well on its way to stealing my heart.

Historic streets lined with yellow cabs, views that make you feel like you're on top of the world, and a culture no words could justify...

I mean, seriously, who could resist?

I've even become fond of the hotdog stands on every corner. And i don't really like hotdogs.

We've jam-packed our days with all of the must-sees; the Empire State Building, New York State Library, ice-skating at Rockefella Centre, Ground Zero, the Brooklyn Bridge and (my personal favourite) a Sex and the City tour... but this place offers so much, i know i'll be left wanting more.

As expected, i've been snapping like a maniac so i'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Sorry, Brisbane. I just don't think you're going to do it for me anymore.

Vegas, baby.

To call this place extravagant would be an understatement...  a theme park on steroids seems more of an accurate description.

If New York is the city that never sleeps Las Vegas has zero concept of time whatsoever. If the lack of clocks weren't enough, the blinds in our luxury suite at the Venetian (highly recommended ps - http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Packages/ for proof) fooled us into sleeping until after 12pm each day.

In our defense, we were recovering from a couple of big nights out. They free pour in America. Enough said.

Still, we managed to fit in some touristy treats. A limo ride down the strip followed by dinner and a show eased our guilt about sleeping away each morning.

ALSO! Definitely managed to cross off number 2 on my bucket list to eat a supersized McDonald's meal (no judgement please) more than once. Note to self: cheeseburger meals in the U.S contain two cheeseburgers, not just one.

I've taken at least a million photos but handpicked a few for your viewing pleasure. The first is my personal fav.

Meet my partners in crime.

Colour me ORANGE

Obsession confession. I have fallen completely and utterly in love with the colour orange... and it is slowly taking over my wardrobe. Fav item is my latest purchase - a TRF blazer from Zara in LA.

It's gotten so bad that my friend has taken it upon herself to stop me from purchasing any more orange attire. Eek.
